The mechanism, from the book
The proof exists in Malabe. What is missing is a thousand small versions of it.
Every idea in cluster 15 uses this mechanism.
A first step
Ask a doctor you know whether they would take video consultations with elderly patients at home, and at what fee. Then ask 20 Sri Lankan families abroad, through their associations, whether they would pay a monthly fee for a doctor who sees their parents regularly and reports back. Paid sign-ups from families, with a doctor ready to start, are the proof.
- Who pays first
- A son or daughter abroad who worries about ageing parents at home and will pay monthly for regular checks and a report.
- What leaves today
- Doctors trained here emigrate to earn, while families abroad have no reliable way to buy care for their parents at home.
The idea and the mechanism are from the book. The first step was written for this site as a suggestion; if you know a better one, say so.
The test
Does it keep value that now leaves the island, or build the proof that lets somebody else do so?
The only test any idea on this site has to pass. The four rules that go with it are here.
